LG Stylus 2 Plus Announced in Taiwan; Global Launch Soon

LG Stylus 2 Plus

LG announced the LG Stylus 2 a few months back and it is widely expected that the device will be available from next month onwards.

However, the company has revealed a new version of the device. TheLG Stylus 2 Plus has been just announced in Taiwan and it brings a number of new features sorely missed in theLG Stylus 2.

Aspects like the display size remain similar on both models, but theLG Stylus 2 Plus comes with 1080p resolution instead of just 720p on theLG Stylus 2. This makes a massive difference as far as user experience is concerned because the former now provides 386 PPI instead of just 258 PPI. Further, theLG Stylus 2 Plus is a phone that does not need protection for its display due to the use of Gorilla Glass 3. Of course, this is not the latest generation of the Gorilla Glass, but it is a positive that some form of protection is provided.

The presence of a stylus brings a whole new level of experience on the LG Stylus 2 Plus. The availability of the device would have been silent had it not been for the leak on TENAA certification. Since the phone will be accompanied by almost identical specifications, there is little difference in the size and weight of the device compared with the LG Stylus 2.

One of the biggest disappointments in both these phones has been the use of the mediocre snapdragon 400 range processors. TheLG Stylus 2 offers the snapdragon 410 processor whereas the recently revealedLG Stylus 2 Plus comes with a marginally better 430 processors from snapdragon.

There have been big differences made in the imaging department due to the use of a new 16-megapixel camera in the rear of the LG Stylus 2 Pluscompared to the13-megapixel camera on theLG Stylus 2. Both phones, though, use the same eight-megapixel camera in the front.

LG would have been expected to provide a much bigger battery considering the 5.7 inch display on theLG Stylus 2 Plus. More importantly, this display comes with 1080p resolution and not the 720p resolution found on theLG Stylus 2. However, it has been revealed that theLG Stylus 2 Plus will continue with the same 3000 mAh battery. This will result in marginally lower battery life.
