LG V20 Starts Selling in Canada, U.S. Launch for Unlocked Model Happening this November

Google Pixel XL vs LG V20

If you live in the Great White North, there is some really good news for you as the flagship LG V20, the successor to last year’s LG V10, is finally here.

The South Korean tech giant announced the LG V20 in early September, making it the first handset to come preinstalled with Android Nougat. The phone made its local debut towards the end of the same month, but since then, it has yet to make its way to North America.

Like many other cases where smartphone rollouts in North America begin with the U.S. market, the LG V20 is checking into Canada after having made its debut in the U.S. already. However, the version available is carrier-locked, but this coming month will see the unlocked version come as well. If you are in the Great White North, the V20 can be bought from Videotron or Wind Mobile, however, those in the U.S. will be lucky toe served with unlocked variants of the flagship.

Unfortunately, the flagship LG V20 has a really huge price tag in the North American country, commanding a price tag of 1,030 CAD on Videotron, but you get to save $30 when you buy it from Wind Mobile. The good side of the story is that there are contract options.

At Videotron, you can get the LG V20 with an upfront payment of 250 CAD, which will earn you a 24-month contract of 80 CAD per month. On the contrary, Wind Mobile is offering it at a slightly higher initial fee of 349 CAD, but the monthly installments are favorable at just 25 CAD per month. Maybe the LG V20 is this pricey in Canada because buyers of the phone will also get free B&O Play H3 headphones that will help them enjoy the amazing Quad DAC of the V20.

Those in the U.S. who have not yet bought the carrier-locked LG V20, you can sit back and wait for a few days as B&H and Newegg stock the flagship. For now, you can pre-order the handset from any of the retailers at a price tag of $799.99, which is cheaper than what some U.S. carriers are asking for. Like those in Canada, the U.S. market will also get free B&O headphones, but it gets better as an LG G Pad 7.0 tablet is also part of the deal. Newegg makes things even sweeter with a 10,050mAh power bank from Orico.

While B&H only talks of a “beginning of November” shipping date, those who pre-order the LG V20 through Newegg will start getting their devices starting November 11.
