The major smartphone brands are trying to distinguish themselves from one another.
LG did it by introducing a double DAC on their last flagship smartphone and this time they are planning to introduce one of the brightest yet power saving display on their next flagship.
The Apple iPhone X is going to focus more on the top notch as they have recently announced that all developers should make apps that support the top notch. The company may soon phase out their iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 models, making the X series of models the base phones. Samsung is about to launch their next flagship, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus with an improved camera like never before.
Compared to their competitors, LG doesn’t follow a yearly pattern of releasing their flagships but rather stick to their own cycle. They take their own sweet time to come up with impressive phones one after the other creating a market of its own. The trend is about to continue and the brand may have an improved model coming up in 2018. Recent sources confirmed that LG is working on a new flagship model which goes by the codename Judy and it will usher in a whole new technology of smartphone displays.
Getting rid of the usual AMOLED and bezel-less displays,LG is going to introduce a large 6.1-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The brightest display will be powered by MLCD+ technologyand it might be some surprising numbers for the average user. The display will have a brightness level of 800-nits which may seem like an overkill now but thegood news is, it won’t eat into your battery life.
Based on rumors, it is known that the powerful new MLCD+ technology will allow users to seamlessly use the phone under bright sunlight conditions without any difficulty. The average smartphone display is next to impossible to actually see under sunlight even with its brightness level set to the highest. The improved display will consume 35 percent less batterywhen compared to the average display allowing it to be extremely bright yet be battery friendly so that you don’t lose too much power when using the phone.
In other specifications, the LG Judy will spot the latest Snapdragon 845 with dual 16-megapixel camera in the rear, stereo speakers and the display will also support HDR making it ideal for media consumption. The phone’s AI camera technology will let you scan any object or place to gather more information.
