The Chinese manufacturer Meizu recently sent out press invites to launch its upcoming Meizu Pro 6s.
This event is scheduled to take place in early November 2016. Following this, the company’s VP P Li Nan has let out a lot of information about the Pro 6s and also the Meizu M5. The Pro 6s is believed to feature a new design and multiple upgrades. However, Nan has also made it clear that the smartphone tends to bear a close resemblance to the flagship Meizu Pro 6 that was released in April. Interestingly, the Meizu Pro 6s has made its appearance many times on the Chinese social platform Weibo and benchmarking websites AnTuTu and GeekBench. The handset has also recently cleared the China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) recently.
Dimensions, Weight and Body Material
No reliable information is available regarding the size and weight of the Pro 6s. Given the fact that the Meizu handset looks very much like its predecessor, the device does not appear to be too big or bulky. However, unofficial sources out the size and weight parameters as 148 x 71 x 7.3mm and weight as 160g. Expected to be made available in silver and gold colors, the gadget will most likely sport a metal unibody. While this can mean that the smartphone is sturdy, it might also feel slippery in your hand.
Screen Display and Size, Pixel Resolution and Density
The screen is said to be a Full HD 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display made of 2.5D glass. There are talks that the pixel resolution will be 1920 x 1080. Even though Meizu has not made any comments on this, a couple of websites indicate that the pixel density could actually be very close to 423ppi. If there is anything to go by these display details, you can be sure of having excellent crispness and clarity for the images and texts displayed.
Primary and Secondary Shutterbugs
In the cameras department, the Meizu Pro 6s appears to offer some appealing results with its 21MP rear or primary camera and 5MP front or secondary snapper. The primary shooter will as expected support laser autofocus functionality. This shutterbug is also rumored to be integrated with a 10x dual tone ring flash. The camera will also record full HD 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. Further details about the front selfie snapper are yet to be revealed. But, given the possibility that the ‘s’ in the name indicates selfie, it is very much probable that you will not be in for a disappointment.
Under the Hood – Hardware, Memory and Software
Meizu seems to be all set to ensure that you have a smooth and seamless experience with the Pro 6s. The smartphone is believed to be loaded with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM as inbuilt native storage. This storage memory can be increased by another 128GB with a memory card. There are also talks about another version of the device with 32GB storage being available. As for the central processor, there were a lot of debates with a few reports pointing towards the possibility of a MediaTek processor and some others indicating a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. But, the manufacturer has put an end to the debate with Nan indicating that the handset will feature a MediaTek central processor. An unofficial source puts this as a Helio X25 deca core processor. As regards graphics, a Mali-T880 processor will be used.
The Pro 6s will operate on Android 6.0 Marshmallow that will come straight out of the box. As always, you can also expect the gadget to support the company’s very own Flyme OS.
Connectivity and Battery
On the connectivity front, the very basic options are definitely bound to be supported. These include Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n and hotspot), micro USB 2.0, GPRS, EDGE, GPS with A-GPS and Bluetooth v4.0.
The battery is reported to be a very normal 2,560 mAh Li-ion battery that is non-removable. Yet, what makes it stand out is that it will charge at a very fast rate because of the ability to support mCharge 3.0 fast charging functionality. As a result, you will be able to charge the Meizu Pro 6s fully in just an hour’s time.
