Mercedes Benz has officially launched the E-Class estate version. The official pricing for the car in the UK region and the proposed availability has been revealed by the manufacturer.
Compared to the saloon, the official price tag of the Mercedes Benz E-Class Estate at £37,935 is at least £2,000 higher. But, for buyers who like to have the extra space andpassenger room could probably go for it. The car is powered by a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine capable of delivering a total of 192 horsepower. It has a fuel efficiency of 67.3 miles per gallon.
The front fascia of the car is extremely similar to the saloon edition. The roofline however differs and extends till the back of the vehicle. The rear light design is heavily inspired by the C-Class Estate and the tailgate wraps itself around the wings. The model is a premium estate which offers the best in class yet has a practical approach to it.
The maximum load volume supported by the Mercedes Benz E-Class Estate is measured to be at 1,820 liters. It easily beats competition because the estate options available in the class including the Audi A6 Avant but the Skoda Superb manages to win it over by many folds. They have 1,680 liters and 1,950 liters respectively with the Skoda having a much lower price tag.
Some nifty features found in the model include hands-free tailgate, keyless go and there is a load securing kit as well. The model has self-levelling air suspension system for ultimate comfort. The interior of the car is quite comfortable and has a huge 12.3-inch display to access the infotainment system. It has digital dials on the top end variant while the lower end still sticks to the old analog dials.
After the initial launch, Mercedes Benz has planned to launch an Acoustic Comfort package. It provides an additional layer of insulation to the windows and doors. The setup significantly separates the passengers from outside noise, giving an acoustic experience while watching movies or simply when conversing with each other.
Security features which are part of the E-Class Estate are semi-autonomous drive pilot system, active brake assist and remote parking pilot. The last feature is optional and demands additional cost. With such features and a decent powertrain, the Mercedes E-Class Estate is expected to be the state of the art luxury car with good fuel efficiency and moderate pricing. In terms of style, it still retains elements related to the Mercedes family.
