The Moto G5 was first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2017 show that was held last month, but the phone, alongside the Moto G5 Plus, is slowly making its way to different markets across the globe.
Even though those in the UK have been able to get the Moto G5 in two color variants of fine gold and lunar, folks in this market will be glad to learn that there is a new color variant of this phone and its sapphire blue.
A few weeks ago, the Moto G5 appeared online in an all-new blue color variant and if you have been waiting for the day that this variant comes to the UK, well, the day is here. So far, this variant can only be purchased via the country’s O2 and you can grab it via a monthly contract of £19, which includes zero upfront fee. Keep in mind that this sapphire blue color variant is exclusive to O2 and it comes with 16GB storage.
While the Moto G5 has been confirmed with the new color variant, the same cannot be said of the Moto G5 Plus. Furthermore, we can’t tell whether the Lenovo-owned tech giant has the same plans for the larger G5 Plus, but who wouldn’t want to see an impressive blue color variant of the phone? Probably no one.
Just to remind you about what you are about to get into, the Moto G5 is a budget phone, just like it has been with previous Moto G series phones. It packs a 5-inch display screen with a Full HD resolution and even though there’s a 32GB variant, you only get to deal with the entry-level variant, but the RAM is decent at 3GB. The phone also ships with an underwhelming Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, which is a downgrade when compared to the Snapdragon 617 used on the Moto G4. The good side of the story is that you get Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The back has a 13MP lens while the front comes in with a 5MP lens for selfies. TO keep it alive is a 2800mAh battery and unlike last year’s model, the new Moto G5 comes with support for fingerprint scanning technology.
