Motorola is enjoying their success spree for many years now since the original Moto G got launched. Their next big success came with the Moto Z phones which have led to the third generation smartphone in the series.
The Moto Z 2018 and the Moto Z 2018 Kingsman Edition are officially launched in China. The specifications of these models confirmed that the device is about to get a lot more expensive than it used to be. The previous versions were all mid-range devices which were powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and other mid-range SoC. However, things are changing with the 2018 edition which is expected to eventually roll out to all countries.
In terms of specification the new model is pretty much the same as the Moto Z2 Force but comes with a new name and is being promoted as the flagship model in China. The device is still the same size with a 5.5-inch display which makes it easier to use all old Moto Z mods with the phone and any new ones that get released will work on all three generations of the device.
However, the 5.5-inch display now sports a much higher resolution of 2560 x 1440 P-OLED display making it crisper and vibrant than ever. The phone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa core processor combined with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space with support for micro SD card.
On the rear end, the Moto Z 2018 edition sports a 12-megapixel snapper but there are two of them to offer photos with a bokeh effect. One of these cameras have a RGB sensor while the other one has a monochrome sensor. The front side has a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box but will eventually receive the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system update as all Motorola phones do.
The special Moto Z 2018 Kingsman Edition and the conventional model sport a 2,730 mAh battery. The manufacturer surprisingly bundled the box with a 3,490 mAh moto mod and another mod that supports wireless charging. They definitely offer a lot of value for the money you pay.
Additional stuff found in the Kingsman Edition include the Turbo power battery mod, wireless charging mod, VIP card, 3.5mm to USB Type C adapter, Moto USB-C Hi-Fi headphones, 45th anniversary notepad and warranty card. The special edition Moto Z 2018 edition costs about $1,500 in China which sounds very expensive.
