Motorola One Macro has appeared in a Geekbench listing today and has also bagged the NBTC certification from Thailand’s certification body.
While the NBTC certificate doesn’t reveal any information other than confirming the moniker of the phone with model number XT2016-1, Geekbench confirms the presence of entry-level specs in this phone. The phone with the same model number has also appeared in FCC revealing the presence of 4000 mAh battery and dimensions of 15 7.6mm x 75.4mm and a screen size of 169mm which equals 6.65-inches.
From the Geekbench appearance, it can be confirmed that the processor has just 2 GB RAM and will be powered by the old MediaTek Helio P60 SoC. This is an octa core chipset with 4-Cortex A73 cores that clock at 2.0 GHz and 4-Cortex A53 cores that clock at 2.0 GHz. Helio P60 is a 12-nm processor and it is supported by ARM Mali-G72 graphics card that helps in smooth performance.
One Macro, likely to be another Android One offering from the company, will ship with Android 9 Pie out of the box and the listing also confirms that this phone could be codenamed ‘Lima’. The phone has scored just 1429 and 5584 in single and multi-core scores of Geekbench and this is the lowest among other Motorola One phones that have appeared in the Geekbench database in the recent past including Motorola One Zoom (One Pro), Motorola One Action and Motorola One Vision. All other phones have better scores than Moto One Macro.
Reliable tipster EVleaks tweeted a couple of images of an upcoming phone but this was about a month ago! The phone image didn’t reveal much other than a big bezel at the bottom with Motorola branding and very thin bezels on the other 3 sides of the phone.
Another image with a wallpaper showed no front camera on the device so there’s a likely chance that this Motorola phone could be sporting a pop-up camera. While there’s no clarity on the exact moniker of the phone these images would belong to, this could possibly be the upcoming Moto G8 Plus or even the Moto Z device.
