Audi has strengthened the performance of its car portfolio by launching the new Audi RS 7 Performance in the Indian automobile market.

The Audi RS 7 Performance represents its vivaciousness and élan in its most powerful form. The new Audi RS7 is a five-door sport back car that combines much impressive strength to create something that is great with a fascinating character.

The Exteriors

The Audi RS 7 Performance arrives with a striking design along with a long engine hood, bumpers that have been designed more sportily apart from the large air inlets up in the front, the flared side stringers, a diagrammed diffuser insert at the rear, a honeycomb grille that has a glossy black finish, which is typical of the RS models.

Audi has offered 2 new optional styling packages, one in matt aluminum and the other in carbon, which can both be customized even further. The Matt Titanium styling package which comes with inlet funnels has been exclusively made available for the new Audi RS 7 Performance models. The RS7 Performance is equipped with the Audi Matrix LED headlamps that are integrated with dynamic turn signals, both on the front and the rear of the car, apart from the new interior design of the tail lights. The premium car comes with 20-inch forged aluminum wheels in 7 twin-spoke design that are a standard feature. 3 different 21-inch wheel designs are also as other options.

Apart from the existing colors, the New Audi RS 7 Performance will also come in an exclusive new Ascari Blue color.

The Interiors

The interiors come with new changes to its clusters of instruments, shift paddles, air outlet controls, a Quattro emblem, and the MMI infotainment system which now comes equipped with a Nvidia graphics processor.

The dial instruments come with white dials, black faces, and red needles. The RS logos and screens doll up the key, the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel which is flat-bottomed, the illuminated entry girders, the tachometer, a large display for the driver information system and the power-governed monitor of the MMI navigation system. The selector lever features a knob that is covered in perforated leather embedded with an RS badge. The shift paddles have been an aluminum-look finish. Additional highlights have been provided with the other trim elements made of aluminum and a muffled-look finish as well as the carbon inlays.

The RS sports seats come with standard integrated head restraints which come with pronounced side bolsters. The seats are covered in exceptionally high-grade, black or lunar silver colored honeycomb-quilted Valcona leather which is also a standard feature. Audi also offers optional comfort seats that are power-adjustable and come with a memory function. The two rear seats have been contoured more sportily. The baggage capacity ranges from 535 to 1,390 liters which depend on the position of the backs of the rear seats.

The Other Standard Features

The standard equipment of the new Audi RS 7 Performance includes a 4-zone automatic air conditioning, apart from the MMI navigation plus with touchpad control (MMI touch), a Heads-up display, a surround system from Bose, independent Sports Air Suspension, and an RS Sports exhaust system. The other optional high-end features include an Advanced Sound System from Bang & Olufsen, a Quattro with sports cogwheel, a dynamic Ride Control, Disk Brakes that are made of Ceramic, a dynamic Package Plus and a bunch of other options for customization from Audi Exclusive to name a few.

Under the Hood

A powerful 4.0 TFSI twin-Turbo V8-engine produces a power of 605 hp that is available in between 6,100 and 6,800 rpm and generates a torque of up to 750 Nm in between 1,750 and 6,000 rpm. The RS 7 Performance shoots up from 0 to 100 in just 3.7 seconds. The new car has an increased its power output by 33 kW (45 hp). The ‘Overboost function’ offers an on-demand increase in the torque from 700 Nm to 750 Nm. The Overboost feature is activated automatically when the car is under full load or if the transmission setting is set to “dynamic” mode. The boost pressure indicator in the RS menu turns red when the overboost is active. The top speed on the RS 7 for the variant with an optional dynamic package is 280 km/h and 305 km/h for the variant with the dynamic package plus. The car offers a lot of fuel efficiency of 9.5 liters per 100 kilometers which explicate to 10.5 kms for a liter.

The engine is mated with an 8-speed assistance with Quattro permanent, all-wheel drive with a sports differential that offers a dynamic and a sporty drive. There is also an option for the driver has to choose in between the D and S modes or to change the gears to the manual mode either by using the shift paddles or by tapping the selector lever. The driver can switch in between the different modes of auto, dynamic, comfort, and individual without having to take their eyes off the road by just using a special button on the RS multifunction steering wheel wrapped in sports leather. The driver can also adjust the function of all the key components by using the Audi drive select that includes the engine, steering, sound management, the Tiptronic along with the optional sports differentia.

Audi offers the Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC) and carbon fiber-ceramic disks, and also comes with a Sports mode which can be deactivated when needed.

The Audi RS 7 Performance comes at a price of INR 1,59,65,000 which is the ex-showroom price in New Delhi, India.
