Pictures of the BMX X3 SUV has been leaked just a couple of days before its official reveal.

BMW had teased their new model through a series of spy shots earlier but the recent leaked pictures show us the entire car in all its details and glory.

The leaked pictures of the brand new BMW model were published online by the company’s Hong Kong office. By adding these new leaked pictures to the press pictures obtained from BMW Blog, we have a full view of the new X3 model which will be released later this year. The new X3 will be available in xLine, M Sport and Luxury Line variants.

Looking at the pictures, it seems that the 3rd Generation X3 has evolved from its predecessor in terms of its exterior design language. The edges of the new model look more soft and round and the iconic double kidney grill seems to be even larger than what we seen traditionally. The new model will also be sporting longer rear doors and quarter windows with an extended wheelbase compared to the previous model (2,810 mm). The L shaped lights on the back seems to remain the same design wise as the previous models but they seem to have a more rounded look.

The interiors of the X3 integrates most of the styling and technology features we have seen on the new BMW 5-Series that includes an instrument panel with digital display and a floating screen for the iDrive infotainment system on the dash top. However, it does look like it’s a step up from the current generation of X3 with a better finish and higher quality materials.

The new model will be using a lightweight rear wheel drive platform to improve its fuel economy, performance and handling. It has been estimated that somewhere between 50kg and 100kg will be removed from the new X3, which will put the total weight of the car to somewhere around 1700kg. The new X3 will also be slightly longer than previous models and therefore will be offering a very spacious cabin.

A number of different models were listed among the leaked pictures namely, xDrive20d, xDrive30d, xDrive20i, xDrive30i and M40i. While these models are currently said to be only available in Honk Kong, we are sure that they will be rolled out in other parts of the world as well. With its official reveal on June 26th 2018, we will soon see if the BMX X3 has any chance of beating its arch rival- The Audi Q5.
