Google made a huge change in their marketing strategy and the products they sell when they announced their flagship Pixel phones.
In the past, the Nexus phones were highly affordable Android devices that sold for less than $500 or so with even better discounts as generations passed.
With the launch of the Pixel and the Pixel XL phones, Google has joined the luxury smartphone manufacturer Apple by pushing the price of their phones all the way up to $700 and even higher. While it is being rumored that Apple is going to go much higher with the upcoming iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus by pricing them as high as $1000, Google has fallen prey to the discounted sales that most manufacturers do. The storage space in this edition will be limited to just 32GB which could be a hindrance for some people but if you don’t have to store large chunks of data on your phone, it shouldn’t be a big problem especially considering the price of the device. For those who can’t compromise on storage, the Pixel phone 128GB edition is discounted to $649.99 and both these discounts reduce the original price of the phone by at least $100.
A bigger and better phone, the Pixel XL 128GB is available as part of the discount sale for about $719.99. The saving is amazing because you slash off a cool $150 off the XL model and it makes the phone sound more affordable than it used to be.
