It has been in the rumors that Apple will be releasing a MacBook Pro 2016 before the year comes to a conclusion. However, these hopes had begun fading away.
But in a surprise turn of events, the ever-reliable Macotakara has come to the rescue with a promising report. Apparently, the MacBook Pro 2016 is still on course for a launch this October. The site further states that the laptop will start shipping towards the end of this month, meaning the launch and release could be just days apart, or even done at the same time.
The report cites a Chinese supplier as the source of the details, adding that not just the MacBook Pro 2016 will be announced at the event, but also a MacBook Air 2016 will follow suit. The MacBook Pro 2016 lineup is expected to make some real design changes, featuring the likes of USB-C as well as Thunderbolt 3. This means there won’t be room for traditional USB ports, Thunderbolt 2 and MagSafe.
The report from Macotakara further says that the MacBook Pro 2016 lineup that will be coming will feature two models. There will be a 13-inch model and a 15-inch model, but as for the MacBook Air 2016, you only get a 13-inch model. As for the 11-inch model of the Air, it will no longer be a part of the release.
The discontinued MacBook Air (11-inch) is nothing new to the rumor mill. Ever since Cupertino introduced the 12-inch MacBook, this device’s future was thrown into a huge doubt, but we now have a confirmation that indeed it won’t be coming.
There is still no specific date put forward for the announcement of the said MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016, however, there has been talk of October 27th. Apple has not yet announced the date for the event, but when it does, we’ll for sure let you know.
