Samsung Galaxy S8 leaks, rumors and speculations will not just stop. In fact, we have close to two full months of these unconfirmed talks, but they are just what we need to keep us in the picture of what really Samsung is working on.
After leaks about the hardware specs of the two Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus phones, new details are now coming in with respect to their measurements. We all know that Samsung has plans to introduce a new design language for the standard S8. However, this won’t be extremely new for those who have worked with the S7 Edge.
If reports are to be believed, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will both come with a dual-edge screen. In addition, there won’t be a front-facing physical home button that usually houses the fingerprint scanner, instead, the home button will find a new home on the display screen while the scanner will be moved to the back. Recently leaked images of these features have confirmed that indeed this will be the case.
Now, in a separate leak, we have our eyes on the possible dimensions of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Apparently, these are rendered images, but they also based on the account of someone who has had their eyes on the upcoming S8 flagships. The images, leaked via notorious leaker Slashleaks and have been marked as 100% legit, can confirm that the standard S8 will have a smaller physical body than the Galaxy S7, but carry a larger display screen.
If the report is to be believed, Samsung Galaxy S8 will measure 131.58 x 68.05 mm compared to the 142.4 x 69.6 mm of the Galaxy S7. Interestingly, the former will come in with a monstrous 5.7-inch display screen as compared to the latter’s 5.1-inch screen. However, it is weird that the height of the display area is the same as the entire height of the phone (131.58mm), which throws this leak into some form of doubt. Mathematically, based on the figures provided, the screen area should end up with a height of about 127.46mm.
As for the larger Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, the measurements are said to be 159.53 x 73.37 mm. This is not so far away from the 150.9 x 72.6 mm of the Galaxy S7 Edge, but the former will debut an even larger 6.1-inch screen as compared to the latter’s 5.5-inch screen.
As for their thickness, it is yet to be determined, but give that the Snapdragon 835 is a lot smaller in size than the Snapdragon 820, the two could be significantly thinner than their counterparts, if not the same size. Previous rumors had placed these screen sizes at 5.8 inches and 6.2 inches, which may not make such a huge difference.
The leaked images also confirm that there won’t be a dual-lens camera setup on the back of the larger Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus as many had speculated, however, the company will definitely add a bunch of improvements in terms of features.
