New leaks inform that the Nokia 5, an entry-level phone will be launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017.
The said device has already been seen on Geekbench, a benchmarking site, going by the name Nokia Heart. All the technical specs have been revealed as well.
Recent Launch Nokia 6
JD.com recently launched the Nokia 6 in China. The Nokia 6 is a middle range device that is powered by the Snapdragon 430 chip from QUALCOMM. It has an X6 LTE model and a RAM of 4 GB, combined with an internal storage of 64 GB. The Nokia 6 runs on the latest Android Nougat 7.0 version. After the launch of the Nokia 6, it was expected that Nokia would be announcing some more smartphones at the MWC to be held in Barcelona. It is also known that the HMD Global will launch a few Nokia smartphones at the MWC conference. This will probably include a high-end smartphone, which is a flagship device, and also a tablet.
Nokia 5 Specs Leaked
The Nokia 5 has already been spotted at Geekbench, which is a portal for benchmarking. It has been revealed with the codename of Nokia Heart. The technical specs of the device have also been revealed. The Nokia 5 will come with a rear camera of 13 MP and a front camera or selfie camera of 8 MP.
According to the latest leaks, the design of the new Nokia 5 is based on the Lumia 925. The screen display of the upcoming Nokia 5 will be 5.2 inches, HD, and the resolution is 720 pixels.
Low End Device
According to the specs, it can be seen that the Nokia 5 will be a low-end device, but it is running on the latest Android OS, the Nougat 7.0 version. The Nokia 6, which was announced recently, also comes powered with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset.
It is expected that the Nokia 5 will be priced around 999 yuan, with the Nokia 6 being priced slightly higher at 1699 yuan. The price of this mid range device, the Nokia 5, is similar to that of the Xiaomi Redmi 4, basic variant.
Returning to the Arena
A lot of tongues were set wagging with the news of Nokia returning to the smartphone arena. However, the news that the recently launched Nokia 6 was meant only for China came as a disappointment to fans. There is no need to fear, as it has been revealed by Nokia China that a better and more powerful flagship smartphone running on Android was in the planning. It would represent the brand vision of the company for the perfect smartphone, putting it back on par with top manufacturers of smartphones today.
High End Flagship Device
Nokia China has claimed that after releasing the Nokia 6 for the Chinese market, there will be a few more phones that would be released in the market. The brand that was being cited as the flagship phone of the company would come with the Snapdragon 835 chipset, which is Qualcomm’s latest processor. This would place the new device, supposedly the Nokia 5, among the top smartphones of the period, such as Galaxy S7 Edge among others.
