Google has confirmed the next OS for Google’s Android Wear 2.0, which will probably arrive during the first quarter of this year.
In addition, Google has also made a reference to new smart watches being built by LG, namely the Watch Sport and the Watch Style, both being created under Google supervision. Android 2.0 focuses on fitness and messages. It also offers more customization features.
Expected on February 9th
Though Google has not specified any date, it is rumored that the new Android Wear 2.0 for Google’s wearable smartwatch will be hitting the wearables on the 9th of February this year. At the same time, it is also rumored that two other smartwatches made by LG under the supervision of Google will also be introduced on the same day. These two watches are the Watch Sport and the Watch Style by LG.
Collaboration Product
The two new watches mentioned above will be a product of collaboration between the two companies, Google and LG. The new smartwatches, the Watch Sport and the Watch Style, will both have Google’s new Android Wear OS 2.0. They will also feature the integration of the Google Assistant to a great extent.
Renders Leaked
Fans interested in buying the new smartwatches can view the first renderings of the Watch Style and the Watch Sport by LG. The images have just been leaked online through TechnoBuffalo. However, the images are rather small and also blurred, so fans will have to wait till Google decides to make an official announcement, probably by the 9th of February, as mentioned above.
Different Wearables
The Watch Sport and the Watch Style are two completely different smartwatches by the LG-Google collaboration. This is so as far as the technical details are concerned and also by way of the design of the two wearables. The leaked renders of the two wearables show us what the final product will look like.
Specs Noted
It is already known that the Watch Sport is going to be a superior gadget, as it comes with a larger display of 1.38 inches and a resolution of 480×480 pixels. It also has a RAM of 768 GB and the battery is powered at 430 mAh. As for the Watch Style, it is the smaller of the two wearables, coming with a smaller display screen of 1.2 inches and supporting a lower resolution of 360×360 pixels. The RAM will also be lower at 512 MB and the battery power is less at 240 mAh.
Crown Buttons
However, both the wearables will come with crown buttons, though the LG Watch Sport has two more buttons placed on the right. The crown button is a rotating one and it can be utilized for going through the user interface of the device, which is the same as the Apple Digital Crown. Initially, Google had made Android Wear smartwatches use only the swipe kind of navigation. Apple wearables had the crown and the Samsung wearables used the rotating bezel, offering quicker navigation. The addition of the crown navigation could make the Google watches more efficient.
