It’s now a year since the first Chinese-exclusive Samsung Galaxy C5 and C7 came to life, but we are now seeing the phones leaving the country for other markets.
In fact, the success of the Galaxy C5 and C7 in China has not only led to the release of the phones in other markets, but it has also pushed Samsung into expanding the offerings in the Galaxy C series. As at the time of this writing, Samsung Galaxy C5 and C7 have already been joined by Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro, but like the initial release of the C series, these two can only be found in China.
If the latest development is to be believed, Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro will follow their counterparts in leaving China at some point in the near future. This is because the Wi-Fi Alliance has just listed the two phones with different model numbers as what is in China, prompting suggestions that these could be destined for Europe, India and other markets outside China.
The Wi-Fi Alliance has listed Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro with model number SM-C5018 while the Galaxy C7 Pro has model number SM-C7018. On the contrary, the Chinese variants have model numbers SM-C5010 and SM-C7010, respectively.
Despite the change in model numbers, the two phones should keep the same specs as their Chinese counterparts. This means you get a Snapdragon 626 SoC, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 16MP main and selfie cameras and Android Marshmallow out of the box. Where the 5.2-inch C5 Pro will come with a 3000mAh battery, the 5.7-inch C7 Pro ships with a larger 3300mAh battery unit. Given how huge these batteries are, they’ll be accompanied by support for fast charging technology.
Keep in mind that we are not sure whether the listed Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro units are meant for the European market. This is just an educated guess, but everything should be clear very soon now that we know the two are being tested.
