Qualcomm is all set to announce its upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset at the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2024 event. This event will occur in Maui, Hawaii between October 21 and 23 this year.
It is expected that the new chip will first be housed in OnePlus 13, a flagship smartphone from the manufacturer. Louis Lee, president of OnePlus China, recently posted a launch timeline of the upcoming OnePlus 13 that is scheduled to take place next month.
The new chipset will enhance the performance of the handset is expected to have better performance than before. It was just last week that Chinese display glass manufacturer BOE organized the Global Innovation Partner Conference 2024 to declare the second-generation oriental screen that it calls the BOE X2. Lee announced that OnePlus will be the first manufacturer to make an offering with this display.
OnePlus 13 Specifications
Lee has not officially shared any details about the specifications of the OnePlus13. However, based on various reports analyzed so far, the smartphone is expected to have a 6.8-inch 8T BOE X2 LTPO screen featuring a quad-micro curved design. The screen will depict a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 2K resolution, and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.

As for the camera, the smartphone is anticipated to have a triple-camera setup. The main shooter will be a 50 MP LYT-808 main camera with OIS along with a 50 MP IMX882 periscope telephoto camera featuring 3x optical zoom and a 50 MP ultra-wide lens.
The OnePlus 13 is slated to draw its power from a 6000 mAh battery that supports 50 W wireless charging and 100 W wiring charging. The handset will also be associated with IP 68/69 dust and water resistance and incorporate a 0916T haptic motor.

The timeline posted by Louis Lee along with his statement ascertaining that an OnePlus device would be the first offering with a BOE X2 display hints that the OnePlus 13 will officially be released in China. The smartphone will likely make its presence felt in China before the end of October 2024.
