Some new images of the OnePlus 5 have been leaked showing a vertical dual camera position and also without antenna lines.
Recently, there was a message from the staff member of OnePlus stating that the DxO, optical firm, was working on enhancing the camera features of the OnePlus 5. Additionally, there were some teasers that showed the number 5, so it is likely that the next device in this series will be the OnePlus 5.
Skipping the 4 Number
The present version of the OnePlus is the OnePlus 3 and it seems that the company will be skipping the number 4 in this series. This is possibly due to a superstition in China, as the number four has a sound that is similar to the words used for death or for disease in the Chinese language.
Several images have been leaked about the upcoming OnePlus 5. Some of the images show that the camera will have a dual set up and will be horizontal, whereas others show it to have a vertical positioning, and the flash between the lenses. However, a new image has been leaked and it comes with the vertical positioning. The device appears cleaner as well, as there are no antenna lines. There is probably a fingerprint scanner that will be embedded within the home button that faces the front of the device.
There are also rumors on the specifications of the OnePlus 5. According to latest reports, the OnePlus 5 will come with a display screen of 5.5 inches and an FHD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The latest Snapdragon 835 processor, containing the octa core CPU, combined with the graphics card of Adreno 540, will power it. There seem to be two versions offered in the OnePlus 5 smartphone. One of the versions probably comes with a RAM of 6 GB along with internal storage of 64 GB. The other version seems to have a RAM of 8 GB and an internal storage of 128 GB. As far as the camera of the OnePlus 5 is concerned, the resolution of the rear cameras is 16 MP and the front camera also comes with the same resolution, for handling video chatting and selfies.
However, from the latest leaks it seems that a key feature will be missing from the OnePlus 5. The 3.5 mm, audio jack, seems to be scrubbed away from the lower portion of the smartphone. However, it is also possible that the audio jack could be placed on the top portion of the phone or even on one of the sides, so it is not yet confirmed as yet.
This is not the first time that a major smartphone maker has done away with the headphone jack port. Apple had made a very bold decision to kill the 3.5 mm port on its iPhone 7. The users had to opt for buying conversion dongles or headphones for supporting the Lightning connection. In case the OnePlus 5 also comes without the headphone jack, users will have to follow the same pattern and buy the dongle or adopt headphones that are compatible with USB C type port.
