OnePlus 6 may be launched 2 months from now with an in-display fingerprint scanner

OnePlus 6 rumors

A month ago, the first OnePlus 5T units were made available for purchase and even before some people decide whether to buy the phone or not, rumors of the 2018 OnePlus 6 are already beginning to show up.

If OnePlus is to maintain its schedule, the OnePlus 6 should be announced in June 2018, but according to a new report by GizmoChina, we are potentially looking at an earlier than usual launch date for the new flagship killer. If this rumor is to be believed, we only have about two or so months and the immediate OnePlus 5T successor will be here. This could mean the 5T will be replaced after selling for less than five months, which is not strange from the Chinese OEM.

Apparently, the OnePlus 6 may be unveiled in early March, probably at the MWC 2018 event and start selling later the same month. Despite the fact that the source is said to have a decent track record when it comes to OnePlus leaks, it’s not easy to believe this development. Like any other rumor, take it with a grain of salt.

Even with the uncertainties, there are a few things we can be sure OnePlus will include on the OnePlus 6. One of them is the new flagship processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 845, alongside 8GB RAM. After the design changes that came with the OnePlus 5T, don’t expect the company to go back to the old design of huge bezels. In fact, the report further adds that the 5T successor will not only come with a bezel-less display, but it will also join Vivo in rocking the in-display fingerprint scanner.

In case you didn’t know, Vivo is set to be the first smartphone maker to take advantage of the new in-display fingerprint scanning technology. Since Vivo shares the same roots with OnePlus (BBK Electronics), the move to have the same feature on the OnePlus 6 is actually a no-brainer.
