Pangu Releases JailBreaking tool for iOS 9.3.3 – Semi Untethered Tool in Chinese Being the Downside

iOS 9.3.3 Jailbreak

Pangu, the well-known iOS hacking group, has releasedthe jailbreaking tool for iOS users to jailbreak the 9.3.3 version of the iOS.

The tool is eligible for iPads and for 64 bit iPhones. However, the tool is offered in Chinese. It is also available only for Windows. An English version of the tool is expected anytime.

Jailbreaking the latest iOS versions

The tool offered by Pangu will also be effective in jailbreaking older versions of the iOS right back to the 9.2 version. However, the tool is brand new and is likely to come with bugs. It is advisable to wait for some revisions made to the tool before installing it, so users must proceed with a bit of caution.

You can install the tool for fun purposes or on a personal test instrument, as there are potential security problems that could affect the device. The tutorial is offered in Chinese language and only for Window machines. However, those who don’t have Windows machines can opt for a virtual setup of the machine for performing the jailbreak.

Eligible Versions

The new jailbreaking tool from Pangu offered in Chinese will require users to run the iOS versions that are eligible for benefitting from this tool. At present, the latest tool has the capability ofjailbreaking devices running the following versions: 9.3.3; 9.3.2; 9.3.1; 9.3; 9.2.1 and also 9.2. If your device is not running on one of these versions, you can install the 9.3.3 or the 9.3.2 version of the iOS on your Apple device. The company is presently signing these two firmware versions. Moreover, the new tool cannot be used for jailbreaking the iOS 10.

Other Requirements

It is also recommended that the user create another Apple ID, which is not connected with his or her primary account. This ID will be required in the jailbreaking procedure. However, the tool will continue to mature, and in this case this requirement may not apply.

Jailbreaking Procedure for 9.3.3 with Pangu

Users have to connect the device to the Windows desktop or a virtual machine, ensuring that the same is recognizable by iTunes. Those who don’t have iTunes, must install it. Next, they have to turn off the Find My iPhone feature on their device.  The installer can then be downloaded from the website of the Pangu group, though it is available only in Chinese language now.

Infancy Stage

The jailbreaking tool by Pangu for the iOS 9.3.3 is still in the infancy stage. It is recommended that users hold off for some time. They can install it when the English version is made available. This will make it easier for them to understand the process. However, if you just cannot wait, you can continue.

The Downside

There is a downside to the story as sell. All compatible devices can use this tool for full jailbreaking. But it is a semi-tethered tool. In case of an untethered jailbreak, users can restart their device or switch off the device after installation, with the jailbreaking still applicable. This tool is semi untethered, so if you switch off the phone or if the phone runs out of battery, you will have to repeat the process of jailbreaking. This is done easily by merely running the application on the device, without having to connect it with a desktop.
