Niantic labs the studio that develops Pokemon Go has announced a holiday event that commences on December 25th, right on Christmas day.
The special event will continue to run throughout the week up until New Year. People who love this augmented reality game that pushes them into the real world to find Pokemons will definitely enjoy this event like never before. While Niantic has made many announcements in the past, this year end special seems to be worth your time. After all, you get to catch some of the most exotic creatures for the first time in many months.
According to the official Niantic blog post, the event gives you a chance to hatch a Togepi. The will start on 25th December and will be open till 3rd January. Pokestops will be more active like never before. Get a Photo Disc spin and you will be rewarded with a single use incubator. They are quite important as you know to hatch eggs of Pichu, Togepi and other pokemons that are found only in the Johto region.
The holiday season is never complete unless you adorn yourself with special red hats, right? The development team is well aware of this fun concept and has ensured that your favorite Pikachu wears the holiday hat. It will not end immediately but rather will wear it throughout the week and probably in the first half of January as well.
During this event, players have the opportunity to find and capture Kanto region Pokemon and their Evolutions. These creatures are highly exotic and never seen before in the smartphone game. If you are ready to spend majority of your weekend roaming, be ready to spot Charmander, Blastoise, Charmeleon, Charizard, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Venusaur and Bulbasaur.
The time limit for the Lure Modules will be increased from 30 minutes to 60 minutes allowing you to catch these creatures within the time. It’s time to enjoy the holidays in open grounds.
