The manufacturers of Razer Phone, the company has been predominantly focusing on PC Gaming peripherals and come out in the open to defend their decision to remove the headphone jack.
While for Apple all it took was “Courage” to remove the 3.5 mm audio jack and introduce a very expensive wireless earphone, Razer actually had a reason or at least that’s what they want the buyers to know before blaming them. Ever since Apple made the decision, companies have been following suit for no apparent reason because the big tech giant did so!
The top tier headphone manufacturers are never going to jump ships at least for the next decade because there are millions of products out there that still uses the so-called dated 3.5 mm headphone jack. However, Razer Phone didn’t remove it just for the sake of it because the manufacturers managed to put in a solid 500 mAh more battery power which should help a lot for long gaming sessions.
The phone has been designed from the ground up to be a gaming device and improved battery life wouldn’t hurt its overall presentation because gamers would want it to run as long as possible on a single charge. By removing the space occupied by the port, the team managed to add extra battery and also allowed more space for the heat generated to pass through, keeping the phone even during intense gaming sessions.
Besides, Razer Phone is actually made for hardcore audiophiles, confirmed its CEO Min-Liang even though it doesn’t have the universal standard 3.5 mm audio jack that is essential for using almost all the headphones available in the market right now. If the audiophiles wouldn’t mind making use of the adapter, they will get the best music quality made possible by the 24-bit DAC adapter used on the phone which has also acquired THX certification ensuring that even your most power gobbling headphones would work without breaking a sweat on the smartphone.
Not many devices can boast of having a display with 120Hz refresh rate but Razer Phone has set a new benchmark in the category as well making it a worthy purchase for power users who wouldn’t want to settle down with consumer phones like the Apple iPhone X or the Google Pixel 2 XL as they are still kind of outdated compared to what companies like Razer or Essential are trying to innovate in the smartphone industry.
