A lot of hype has been building up with respect to the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 6 and iPhone 7, however, very little has been coming out with respect to the Google Nexus 2016 phones.
The build up to the release of the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, HTC 10 and Sony Xperia X series was filled with leaks, rumors, and speculations of what these devices would like and the specs they will pack. However, the story is not the same with respect to the successors to last year’s LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P.
Apart from the rumors surrounding the OEMs to manufacturer this year’s models, with both HTC and Huawei both appearing to be contesting for the deal, nothing really has come out of the Google chests. However, it is never easy to keep such highly sought-after information from the many high-tech experts of today. Apparently, there is a new leaked info regarding the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 and as it seems, the search engine giant is lining up three devices for the upcoming Nexus series.
Google’s Source site shows that the Nexus 2016 phones will include an Angler, Bullhead, and Marlin. It has been reported earlier that HTC is working on two devices codenamed Marlin and Sailfish. While there is no sight of Sailfish on the list, the fact that Marlin is present shows that HTC will be part of the team building this year’s Google Nexus phones.
This is just a speculation, though, since there is no mention of HTC in the leaked info. This means that Huawei can also be part of the team making the 2016 Nexus phones. This can be backed by the fact that a company official recently stated that the Chinese OEM will still be making a Google Nexus 2016 phone.
While the leak only but shows the codenames of the phones, we expect one of the released devices to be a flagship phone, thus replacing last year’s flagship, Nexus 6P. On the other hand, a successor to the Nexus 5X is also expected while the third device is rumored to be a Nexus tablet. Some of the major highlights of these devices will be the debut of Android N – a highly rated Android OS that is set to bring in a major revolutionary feature, albeit for Android users, similar to Apple’s 3D Touch.
We expect more information to be headed our way in the coming days, so keep following us.
