Since the Google Nexus 6P, Huawei has grown in stature as a brand, despite the fact that it has its roots buried deep in China.
When the Huawei Honor 5X was released, it made more than 8 million sales in its first nine months. Now to follow it up, the Chinese tech giant wants to unveil a new Huawei Honor 6X this coming month, possibly on October 18th, if the latest reports are anything to go by.
The Honor 6X was first seen in better terms when it came up on the country’s TENAA certification filings. With such an appearance, it is a straight indicator that the device in question is almost ready for launch. Just in case you didn’t know, TENAA is the Chinese equivalent of the FCC, which basically certifies products in the country.
In a new series of leaked images, it appears that Huawei has some cool features to offer on the Honor 6X. Apparently, the mid-ranger will come with a dual-lens camera setup on the back, something that will be new for the category. In fact, the dual-lens camera setup game started this year with the LG G5 flagship and it has since grown to include the likes of Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus. Now, after fitting the Huawei P9 flagship with a dual-lens camera setup, the Honor 6X might be the first to come with the feature in the company’s mid-range family.
Leica was introduced to the scene when it came to the Huawei P9, but it remains unclear whether the same will happen with respect to the Honor 6X. As for other specs, the 6X will reportedly come with a 5.5-inch Full HD resolution screen with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The phone will also keep the fingerprint scanner on the back, just below the camera.
Under the hood, the mid-range Honor 6X will come with a Snapdragon 625 SoC that is paired with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM and an inbuilt memory of 32GB, which can be expanded using a microSD card. Expect the latest connectivity options such as 4G LTE and USB Type-C alongside dual-SIM support. As usual with Huawei phones, expect an amazing full metal design, something similar to what its predecessor has, but better, of course.
