Report: LG V20 to Start Selling in the U.S. from October 21st

lg v20

The LG V20 was the first phone to be announced with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box at an event earlier this month. Back then, there was no talk of the official release date of the flagship, but apparently, we now have a date of when the phone will be available in the U.S.

Starting October 21st, it is reported that LG V20 enthusiasts will be able to get their hands on a new phablet. However, the news source has not verified whether this information is coming from Google or LG, but the track record of the source makes it very easy to believe this statement. If this October 21st date materializes, the LG V20 will have taken more than a month for it to be availed to the public for purchase, but this won’t be anything strange, especially when looking at the company’s past record.

As noted earlier, details of the release of the LG V20 have been scarce. In fact, this is the first time such news is coming out and given the expected variations between different carriers’ release dates, we expect to see more information coming in from the likes of Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Furthermore, LG did not reveal the details of the phone’s price at launch, leaving the task to the carriers who will be selling the phone.

In case you didn’t know, the LG V20 was launched a couple of weeks ago and it has a lot in common with its predecessor, the LG V10. Apart from the changed internal specs, camera configurations, design material as well as software, the rest remain unchanged. The screen size and quality remain the same at 5.7 inches with QHD resolution, with a secondary 2.1-inch screen on top. Under the hood, you get a Snapdragon 820 SoC that is paired with a RAM of 4GB.

LG V20 vs LG V10

The highlight of the LG V20 is its new Android 7.0 Nougat OS, making it the first to be unveiled based on this OS. In addition, the camera configuration was changed from last year where the dual-lens setup has now moved to the back while the front now has a single-lens setup. As usual, you get a removable battery unit, but the rumored modular design of the LG G5 did not materialize.

Since LG has not yet made a comment on this report, there is little that can be confirmed yet about the release of the V20. Still, we’ll follow up the matter and bring you the latest news and updates regarding the phone.
