It is not usual for Apple to hold major events in March, but this started changing when the iPhone SE was launched last spring alongside the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
Since the launch of the phone, talk of a refreshed version was always quashed away by the fact that Cupertino was focusing more on the 2016 iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Now that the company is already done with releasing the 2016 flagship and that it is almost a year since the 4-inch iPhone SE came to life, fresh details of the handset have begun showing up.
Apparently, Apple is set to keep its date with the March event, but this time, it will be livelier than last year. If all goes according to the latest rumors, the event will see a new iPad Pro 2017 lineup come to life, bringing with up to 4 different models. Where the tech giant is expected to update the 9.7-inch iPad Pro as well as the larger 12.9-inch model, the latest report, which comes from Japanese website Mac Otakara, claims that there will be a third and fourth iPad Pro this time around. One will ship with a much smaller 7.9-inch display screen while the other will slide in between the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch variants, debuting a 10.5-inch iPad Pro 2017. While the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch models will be termed as iPad Pro 2, the other two will simply be known as iPad Pro 2017.
In addition to releasing up to four variants of the iPad Pro, the website also reports that Apple will add a third storage option for the 4-inch iPhone SE, which already comes in 16GB and 64GB storage options. As it is, fans of the compact iPhone will be able to buy a 128GB variant come May this year. Apple will also make some tweaks to the appearance of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, adding a red color variant to the lineup. It is also possible that there will be new bands for the Apple Watch.
The iPad Pro 2017 event will be held somewhere in March this year, at least according to this report, but the date is not known for now. We should keep following the matter and update you with fresh details soon. Stay tuned!
