There have been some credible leaks from Russians surrounding the Samsung phones and the latest claims that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7 may have a 3600 mAh battery.
Such a large battery size will be a welcome addition to the device since it is expected to provide around 20 hours of video playback even with a 5.8 inch display. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is the current phone in the Samsung line-up to offer exceptional battery life. It comes with the same 3600 mAh battery size, which is used to handle a fairly large 5.5 inch display.
The additional 0.3 inches that the battery has to handle on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is unlikely to be a problem since the display may come with the same QHD resolution as seen in the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Samsung seems to have made it a priority that they provide the upcoming phone with excellent battery life. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 already comes with one of the finest examples of battery life as the phone can easily last about 14 hours when it comes to playing videos at maximum brightness.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has a 3000 mAh battery and the expected battery size on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is only a 20% increase. It may be a long shot for Samsung to expect around 20 hours of battery life from this configuration, but any increase over the 14-hour timeframe will be a very healthy improvement.
One can be almost confident that the 20-hour figure can be reached with a 4000 mAh battery, but opting for this large battery size would have made it difficult for the phone to be desirable in terms of looks. The 3600 mAh battery size seems like a perfect compromise between the two.
In all other aspects, the Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be the class leading smartphone in 2016. It is rumored to have the snapdragon 823 processor or the latest generation Exynos chipset. This will make the phone extremely powerful, as it is also expected to come with 6 GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note series have always been class leading in terms of performance and it seems that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will live up to the history. It remains to be seen if the phone will come with water resistant features, which was omitted from the Galaxy Note 5.
