Xiaomi has a wide range of devices in the market, just like Samsung, and in fact, you can easily get confused with the versatility of the company.
Last year, the Xiaomi Mi MAX made its debut featuring a massive 6.44-inch display screen. The phone lit up the phablet world with a bunch of amazing specs and features and according to the latest reports, the company is looking to build on this success as it plans to unveil the phone’s successor.
According to a new report picked up by Android Pure, the Xiaomi Mi MAX 2 will keep the same screen size as its counterpart. Even though there is no mention of the resolution, you can expect the same Full HD that appears on the current model. Under the hood, the Mi MAX 2 is expected to come with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, similar to the one rumored for the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2.
As far as the memory options are concerned, the report alleges that Xiaomi Mi MAX 2 will ship with a massive RAM of 6GB, 2GB more than the special edition of last year. However, the same 128GB of storage should be retained alongside support for microSD card storage. To keep the phablet alive will be a monstrous 5000mAh battery, which is slightly bigger than the one used on its predecessor. This huge unit should be supported by fast charging technology so that it doesn’t take ages to fill up.
Software-wise, you can expect the Xiaomi Mi MAX 2 to ship with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the company’s MIUI on top.
These specs are a slight improvement from what the original Mi MAX came with. As noted earlier, the screen size and specs are similar to the upcoming MAX 2, but under the hood, it is a little weaker. The low-end model has a Snapdragon 650 SoC on board alongside 3GB RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of storage. As for the high-end model, there’s a Snapdragon 652 SoC that is paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage.
The back of the Xiaomi Mi MAX has a 16MP snapper while the front comes with a 5MP lens. To keep it alive is a huge 4850mAh battery that also supports fast charging technology. Android Marshmallow runs the show out of the box.
Apparently, the MI MAX 2 will be launched in May, just like last year, but the exact date is not yet known. Keep following and we’ll let you know when this happens.
