Rumored Nokia P1 will look like the Sharp Aquos Xx3, but with better specs

Nokia P1

There have been talks of a supposed Nokia P1 smartphone in the making, but HMD Global, the company that now owns the Nokia brand, hasn’t said a word regarding this phone.

The Finnish company already confirmed that it will be at next month’s MWC tech show in Barcelona. The company has not said whether it will be releasing a new flagship phone, but reports are rife that there is a supposed Nokia P1 being readied for this day.

If the latest report by Android Soul is anything to go by, the rumored Nokia P1 will have a lot in common with the 2016 flagship Sharp Aquos Xx3. Many of you might not be familiar with this phone as it hasn’t sold globally, instead, it is mostly sold to locals in Asia. The Aquos Xx3 has a nice metallic body with an aluminum frame and nicely finished back panel that features a hard coating.

It is unclear if the Nokia P1 will also take after the design material of the Sharp Aquos Xx3, but reports are rife that the two will share a lot in terms of design language. Since the Aquos Xx3 is a 2016 flagship, it came in with high-end specs and features as well, including a 5.3-inch Full HD screen, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 3GB RAM and a 3000mAh battery unit. You also get a great 22.6MP main camera and a 5MP shooter for selfies. Although there is 32GB of internal storage, you also get a microSD card slot that can accommodate up to 200GB.

Now, latest reports claim that the Nokia P1 will not just ship with the same design language, but it will also keep several specs. The P1 will keep the same 5.3-inch Full HD display screen as well as the main camera of 22.6MP. However, the processor shifts to the newer Snapdragon 835 and is paired with a huge RAM of 6GB, with storage options of 128GB and/or 256GB.

Not so long ago it emerged that HMD Global was working on a new Nokia 8 flagship that will be powered by the latest Qualcomm processor. But it later turned out that this wasn’t the case. With this in mind, be sure to take the latest development with a grain of salt, especially since it is not an official communication from neither HMD Global, Nokia nor Sharp. Still, we should be able to know more details about this rumored Nokia P1 phone as the MWC 2017 show moves closer.
