Apple will be releasing the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus later this year. Months before these phones are made official, there have been numerous rumors regarding the possible design changes as well as spec improvements that Apple is expected to bring alongside the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus successors.
Apple is famous for keeping quiet with details of its upcoming devices until the day of release or rather launch. However, it is never an easy job keeping hold of such highly-sought information, especially in the current digital world.
It has been reported that Apple will keep lots of the design features of the iPhone 6S when coming in with a new iPhone 7. However, it is unavoidable to have some few changes here and there, just like with the case of Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7. While reports in the recent past have been rife that Cupertino will be ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of a much better Lightning port and Bluetooth headsets, some surprising news is contradicting earlier speculations.
The latest information surfacing from China claims that the upcoming Apple iPhone 7 will include the standard 3.5mm headphone jack, just like the previous versions of the phone. Photos courtesy of a China-based repair shop known as Rock Fix have been doing rounds on Weibo, reportedly showcasing what are believed as iPhone 7 components.
One of the components being showcased is a Lightning cable assembly that is meant for the 4.7-inch variant. As seen from the photos, the headphone jack is still attached to the setup, which is contrary to what has been flooding tech sites with respect to the iPhone 7 design.
iPhone 7 to support dual-SIM connectivity
In addition to the surprise news of including a 3.5mm headphone port, the same source also adds that the iPhone 7 will for the first time come with support for dual-SIM connectivity. The repair shop also showcased other parts it claims to be for the upcoming iPhone flagship, among them display screens of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, SanDisk memory chips of up to 256GB, as well as a dual-lens camera setup that is meant for the larger iPhone 7 Plus.
Of course, this is no different from previous leaks that have suggested the omission of a 3.5mm headphone jack, among other features. This means that there are still uncertainties regarding the features to be included on the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
