Samsung aims a dig at Google and LG amid Pixel 2 XL display issues

Samsung Display is the leading when it comes to global shipping of display screens.

As if to remind Google and LG, and especially the former, amid the ongoing issues with the Pixel 2 XL display, the Korean tech giant has unveiled a new commercial that puts more emphasis on how good the Galaxy S8 display screen is.

As you may have already noticed, Google and LG are not at peace following the issues that early adopters of the Pixel 2 XL are reporting. There’s talk of burn-in and color vividness issues as well as the blue shift problem that Google says is normal. Interestingly, these issues have nothing to do with the smaller Pixel 2, whose 5-inch OLED display is Samsung-made as opposed to the LG-made pOLED panel on the Pixel 2 XL.

Google is already doing everything possible to ensure attention doesn’t get off the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Still, most of you will agree that even with the display issues, there’s no other that is better than the Pixel 2 XL, especially in the Android niche. And perhaps Samsung knows it and hence the new commercial that is aimed at killing any momentum the Pixel 2 XL may be gaining over the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 8.

The commercial puts together short clips from reputable YouTubers reacting to the amazing display screens on Samsung smartphones. What Samsung pretty much says is that if you want a phone with the best display screen, there’s no better than the Galaxies.

As noted at the beginning, Samsung is the world leader when it comes to display screens. Unless you are blind, you can actually see this on each and every other smartphone the company releases year in year out. Perhaps it’s the reason Apple, despite the strong rivalry, chose to go with Samsung Display with respect to the iPhone X OLED display screen.
