It is time Samsung Galaxy A8 received an update, especially now that a bunch of other Galaxy A series handsets have been updated with 2016 variants.
While the details of the Galaxy A8 2016 have only remained to feature as rumors, the latest report is more than a rumor. Instead, it is more of a guaranteed confirmation that the phone is indeed coming out very soon.
About two weeks ago, a leaked specs sheet showed up via benchmarking site GFXBench and back then, a number of details believed to be meant for a Samsung Galaxy A8 2016 with model number SM-A810 showed up. Once again, there is a fresh report of the same phone courtesy of the same benchmarking site. This time round, there is more as the phone has reportedly passed Bluetooth certification.
In the new details, a phone with model number SM-810F has appeared on the benchmarking site. As a result, we now have more details of what hardware specs this handset will come with. The phablet will come with last year’s Samsung flagship, which is the Exynos 7420 octa-core that was used on all of the company’s 2015 flagship smartphones. In addition, the phone will keep the same 3GB RAM that was used on the Galaxy S6 units alongside this chipset, meaning you get the same performance.
Samsung will pack an onboard storage of 32GB, which should be supported by a microSD card. Being a phablet, the Galaxy A8 2016 will feature a monstrous 5.7-inch display screen, but don’t expect anything better than a Full HD resolution. In previous leaks, it had been noted that the Galaxy A8 2016 will not just borrow the internal hardware specs of last year’s Galaxy S6, but it will also extend the borrowing to the camera specs. This means you get a 16MP snapper on the back and a 5MP snapper on the front for selfies.
As for the OS, there will be Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. Despite all these, Samsung has remained coy on the matter, but given that the phone has received Bluetooth certification, it is a confirmation that it should be released in the near future.
We’ll be here to let you know if and when this happens, including the price details of this Galaxy A8 2016 handset.
