Samsung Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 have long been rumored to be in the making as the company looks to unveil a new Galaxy C series.
With the South Korean company expected to announce these two phones this Thursday, more leaks have surfaced regarding the Galaxy C5 and these come in form of press render images. With this, there is very little to doubt that the phone will be arriving this week.
The press renders come from a German site known as WinFuture and they give us everything we need to know about the Galaxy, be it the spec sheet, the design or even measurements. The picture shows a gold variant clad in a metallic build, which doesn’t mean that this will be the only color variant on offer. The phone is thin, but it is thin enough to house a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microUSB port. You will notice speaker grilles on the lower end whereas the power button is located on the right and the opposite side has the volume rockers.
On the back is the camera protruding and on its left you’ll find the flash. There is a fingerprint sensor on Samsung Galaxy C5, but is not on the rear, rather, it has been embedded in the home button at the front.
As per the rest of the spec sheet, the latest leak claims that Samsung Galaxy C5 will come with a roomy 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display screen with Full HD resolution with support for 5 finger gesture. Under the hood, the phone will pack a Snapdragon 617 and a decent flagship RAM of 4GB. As for the storage, you get 32GB and 64GB of onboard memory, which can also be expanded using a microSD card of up to 128GB.
On the back of the phone will be a primary camera of 16MP, similar to what was offered on last year’s flagships. But the front is better equipped with an 8MP sensor. You might be slightly disappointed with the battery capacity of Samsung Galaxy C5 as it will only offer 2500mAh.
During the same launch event slated for Thursday 26, Samsung will also unveil a new Galaxy C7. As per the leaks, the phone will come with slightly better specs than the C5. While the two units will carry the same screen technology, Samsung Galaxy C7 will include a larger 5.7-inch display unit. Under the hood, Samsung will pack a Snapdragon 625 SoC, a RAM of 4GB and it will offer the same 32GB and 64GB storage options. While the camera specs remain the same as those on Samsung Galaxy C5, you get a better battery capacity of 3000mAh on the larger handset.
As for the pricing, the base model of Samsung Galaxy C5 will reportedly cost about $305 while the high-end model will cost $365. As for the larger Galaxy C7, claims are that Samsung will value the 32GB variant at $396 while the 64GB variant will set you back $427.
Both devices will be powered by the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.
