Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro has been in the rumor mills more often in the recent times and in fact, images and specs of the same phone had already been leaked out ahead of its official launch.
As expected, the Galaxy C9 Pro was launched on October 21, making history as the first Samsung phone to come with a RAM of 6GB. The launch of a phone with such a huge RAM chipset comes on the back of the company’s launch of the first 8GB RAM module for mobile phones.
The Galaxy C family began this year, with the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 making their debut a few months ago. There have been talks of a Galaxy C9 in the making, but this phone remains a mystery. Instead, the South Korean tech giant has unveiled a Galaxy C9 Pro, which is possibly an enhanced version of the yet-to-be-released standard C9.
Made of metal like the other Galaxy C members, the C9 Pro is quite powerful. As noted earlier, the phone has a RAM of 6GB, which is something you find in a handful of phones, but most people in China are already accustomed to this size. The fact that Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro has such a huge RAM doesn’t mean it is a flagship. Digging further into the phone’s specs sheet will reveal midrange hardware, including a 6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a Full HD resolution, a Snapdragon 653 octa-core SoC, an Adreno 510 GPU as well as an expandable storage of 32GB.
The phone supports dual-SIM connectivity, but the second slot is a hybrid, meaning it can also be used for microSD card storage purposes. The back of the phablet has a 16MP snapper with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, but there is no OIS. Surprisingly, the front part also comes with the same 16MP shooter, which makes the Galaxy C9 Pro one of the best, if not the best, selfie-focused smartphone today.
To keep the handset alive and kicking, Samsung went for a huge 4000mAh battery, but as usual, it is not removable. Despite the huge size of the phone, Samsung still has the fingerprint scanner placed in the physical home button. The phone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and weighs 185g.
You can buy the Galaxy C9 Pro in either gold or rose gold color variants, both priced at 3,199 Yuan, which translates to about $473.
Whether this phone will be released in other markets or will remain exclusive to the Chinese market is still unknown, but we should know very soon. Once we do, we’ll let you know as well. Keep following us!
