Samsung Galaxy J7 Nxt smartphone was launched with Android 7.0 Nougat in July last year.
It is yet another Samsung phone that is waiting in queue to receive the Android Oreo update. It seems that the Oreo update for J7 Nxt may not be far away as the handset has been spotted with the latest Android version on Geekbench.
The Samsung SM-J710FB model number belongs to the Galaxy J7 Nxt smartphone that was launched in India last year. The very same smartphone has been available with varied names like Galaxy J7 Neo and Galaxy J7 Core in different markets. The Geekbench listing of the Galaxy J7 Nxt shows that it features Exynos 7870 SoC and 2 GB of RAM and it is running on Android 8.0 Oreo.
Previous reports have claimed that the J7 Nxt will be receiving the Oreo update in the third quarter 2018. Since Q3 has already started, Samsung could be testing the J7 Nxt with Oreo update. Hence, it seems that the arrival of the J7 Nxt could be drawing near.
Samsung has always been slow at rolling out new versions of Android for its flagship phones. The process is even slower for mid-range Samsung phones. The company was expected to release Android 8.0 Oreo update for 2017 versions of Galaxy J3, Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 by mid-July, but the arrival of the firmware upgrade has been delayed to September. Probably, the Galaxy J7 Nxt may receive the Oreo update by the same time.
