A mysterious Vivo smartphone named as Vivo 1879 has been spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 845.
The Chinese manufacturer had introduced SD845 powered Vivo NEX S flagship phone in the previous month. At the beginning of this month, a smartphone labelled as Vivo 1805 had appeared on the same benchmarking site with flagship specs. The Vivo NEX had shown up as PD1805 on China’s 3C and TENAA certification bodies before it was unveiled. This suggests that the newly spotted Vivo 1879 could be an upcoming flagship phone from Vivo.
The Vivo 1879 has scored 2405 and 8343 respectively on the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench. The handset is running on Android 8.1 Oreo. The SD845 is coupled with 8 GB of RAM. The Vivo 1879 model is yet to appear on the website of certification bodies. Hence, there is no other information available on the unidentified smartphone.
Currently, the Vivo NEX S and NEX A smartphones are only available in China. The Chinese manufacturer is speculated to be working on the global launch of the Vivo NEX phones. Starting from this month, the NEX smartphones are expected to arrive in five markets such as Russia, India, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
There is a possibility that the Vivo 1879 could be the model number of the international editions of the Vivo NEX. If the Vivo 1879 is really a different flagship phone from the company, more details on it may appear in the coming weeks.
