As Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Marshmallow update continues to roll out across the globe following its release earlier last month, users in Canada are yet to receive this elusive operating system.
The update has been doing rounds in different places across the globe, however, the release dates have been mysteriously changing in the recent past, especially for those on Telus network. Devices such as the Moto X Play and LG G3 have already begun receiving the Marshmallow update, with the latter’s update the latest of the two. While LG G3 Marshmallow update begun showing up in Canada on March 29, those using the Moto X Play started receiving this update on March 21.
Canadians have been patient with the release of Marshmallow to major flagships. Those using the Galaxy Note 5 will have to wait for a few more days before the update starts rolling out on this phablet.
New Marshmallow release dates for Telus and Rogers
As mentioned earlier, carriers in Canada have been playing around with the release dates of last year’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to their devices. Telus and Rogers are examples and as it seems, the two have also announced new dates for rolling out this software.
Rogers has reportedly updated its Android Marshmallow release date for the Galaxy Note 5, slating it to April 27. On the other hand, Telus will be pushing this month’s Android security updates to the likes of Nexus 5X, Nexus 5, Nexus 6 as well as the premium Nexus 6P beginning April 4. As for major handsets, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ Marshmallow update will start coming out on the same date. This update will also carry this month’s security updates.
Going ahead, the carrier has revealed that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Marshmallow rollout will begin on April 6 and a day later, those using the first generation Moto G will begin enjoying the same privileges. If you are already own one of the newly released Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge, there are some bug fixes coming your way as from April 9. As for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Marshmallow on Telus, expect to see it beginning April 14 whereas its counterpart Samsung Galaxy S6 will receive the update as from April 18.
