Samsung Galaxy Note 5 users can already boast of having already received the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on their devices.
Even though the update has taken ages before hitting this device, it is better late than never. In addition to receiving the routine upgrade to the latest software version, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 units have also begun receiving this month’s Android security updates.
Just like the delays experienced with respect to pushing operating system updates to their devices, Samsung seems to be having the same problem as far as monthly Android security patches are concerned. Since it’s just a mere security update and nothing much, the new update has a weight of just 19MB. However, it will bring the phone’s software version to N920GDDS2BPD2 as well as the security patch level to coincide with the latest release of April 2, 2016.
Other than India, the April Android security patch for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is also available in Sri Lanka and Nepal. However, those using the Galaxy Note 5 with model number SM-N920G in these two regions can get this update at the time of this writing.
Software updates are usually released in stages and as such, it is not possible to see all units of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 receiving this update at once. So, in case you haven’t seen the update’s notification on your phone, there is really nothing to fret about. Sooner than later, the update will be available for downloading and installing on your phone. However, if you can’t wait, there is another way of doing things. Go to the Galaxy Note 5’s settings menu, tap on the About device option and follow it by taping the Software updates option.
