If at all everything that happens does so for a reason, it is easy to say that Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is closing in on its official release date.
Rumours have been doing rounds with regards to what Samsung might be brewing for the lovers of the phablet Galaxy Note series, the successor to the last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 5. There are even reports suggesting that Samsung Galaxy Note 6 might skip IFA 2016 in Berlin, just like last year’s Note 5, but this time, it might do so with a month to spare.
Samsung has not confirmed when the Galaxy Note 6 will be coming out, but if speculations are to be believed, we might see this phone as early as mid-July, with sales commencing in late July or early August. Speaking of speculations, the latest developments coming from Walmart might just be an indicator that the next phablet from Samsung is around the corner.
The giant American retailer has made a not-so-surprising move that has seen the company shave $150 off all Samsung Galaxy smartphones, including the latest Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge as well as last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the S6 series. It seems the offer comes to both carrier-branded and SIM-free versions of the Samsung handsets. The prices will also vary depending on the choices of the buyer and the location of the store will determine the model you get, depending on availability.
Samsung promo to run until end of June
The good news about the Walmart-Samsung promotion is that it will be running for a massive three months up until the end of June. If you love Samsung, this is the best time to take advantage of this offer. However, smart buyers will wait a little longer as this is not the first time such a thing is happening. Normally, such product promo campaigns show up when manufacturers and sellers are just about to come in with new devices and as such, they lower the prices of the current ones to make way for the newer ones.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are already out. The only major device still to come from this company this year is Samsung Galaxy Note 6. Now that the price of the Galaxy Note 5 has been cut by $150, it might just be a suggestion that Samsung is about to release the phablet. As mentioned earlier, reports have been rife that the device might see an early release as compared to the Note 5’s August release.
Since this year’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge arrived a few days earlier than last year’s S6 and S6 Edge, it is possible that the same might repeat with the Galaxy Note 6. With the deal at Walmart running until the end of June, chances are high that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 might be replaced by the Galaxy Note 6 by mid or end of July.
There are even further reports that claim Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will be powered by the latest Android N out of the box, which Google is expected to make official during the I/O 2016 conference in May. Other than being powered by the latest OS, the new Note 6 is also rumored to pack a 5.8-inch AMOLED screen with 2560 by 1440 pixels of QHD resolution, the latest Snapdragon 820 and a RAM of up to 6GB. With dust and waterproofing capabilities back with the Galaxy S7, the same is also expected in the Note 6, in addition to a microSD card slot that can handle up to 200GB to back up the 32GB/64GB of onboard storage.
