As the world approaches the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, rumors continue to come thick and fast about the device, which could be a game changer in the segment.
It is still not clear if the phone will come with a curved display or with two versions to satisfy both sets of customers. Working units of both devices have been seen in several leaks and the latest might suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 does come in a regular variant with no curved screen.
It is also quite possible that Samsung has been testing out two versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 but only one of those will make it to the production line and end up on the retail market. The other version is likely to remain as a prototype. It is quite possible that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 prototype with a regular screen might end up with a similar fate. However, it does reveal several key elements of the phone like the USB Type-C port at the bottom. This seems to be one of the common elements between the two versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
The 12-megapixel rear camera on the Samsung Galaxy S7 has received rave reviews and surprisingly it seems to continue on the Galaxy Note 7 without much change – at least superficially. The same seems to apply for the front facing five-megapixel camera. One new addition which is clearly visible on the leaked prototypes is the availability of the iris scanner. It, along with the improved fingerprint sensor, could offer new ways to enjoy the device without much touch inputs.
The presence of the Super AMOLED screen will ensure that the Always On display feature which first made its debut on the Samsung Galaxy S7 continues on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as well. Aside from this aspect, the phone is also set to come with several new features on the S Pen. Already available rumors have been very stable with regard to aspects like processor and RAM. The former will be a snapdragon 820 chipset while the latter will feature 6 GB – the same as in the OnePlus 3. Samsung are expected to revamp the TouchWiz user interface even further in order to take advantage of the large screen real estate on the Galaxy Note 7. The screen size seems same as the 5.7 inches on the existing Galaxy Note.
