Samsung Galaxy On5 2016Spotted on Benchmarks

Samsung Galaxy On5 2016

Only recently, Samsung was rumored to be preparing the 2016 version of the Galaxy On7.

The phone has been featured intensively on benchmark tests in recent weeks while it has also been apparently imported in India for testing purposes. Hence, it makes a lot of sense to learn that Samsung is also ready to come out with the 2016 edition of the Galaxy On5. The Samsung Galaxy On5 has also just been spotted on benchmark tests.

Most of the details about the device are still under the wraps, but it is becoming clear that the performance on the new device will be significantly better than before. This is due to the use of a 64-bit processor, which may not sound interesting given that the device has only 2 GB of RAM. The 64-bit processor architecture can be of use only when 4 GB or more memory is available. Still, it is heartwarming to know that Samsung Galaxy On5 2016 will not be left out of the 64-bit party.

The use of this latest architecture is brought about by the Exynos 7570 chipset. Little is known about the processor, but it is expected to be clocked at 1.4 GHz. The quad core CPU will not be a major improvement in terms of clock speeds, but the phone is hugely helped by the additional RAM on offer. The 2015 edition of the Samsung Galaxy On5 came with 1.5 GB of RAM. The additional memory coupled with a new processor is likely to see the introduction of the android 6.0.1 operating system into the device. Other details about the phone like the screen size is expected to remain similar to the current generation.

However, Samsung may increase the competition in the entry-level smartphone segment by opting for 1080p resolution on the existing 5 inch display. This will certainly make it one of the most desirable phones – if at least only for the display quality – at this price point. The 2015 edition does not use any high-end technologies and it is just a basic TFT screen. The use of the super AMOLED – or even the AMOLED technology – will be a game changer in this segment. The 2016 edition of the Samsung Galaxy On5 is expected to be launched around November – exactly a year after the 2015 edition. The new model is expected to be codenamed with the model number SM-G550.
