As far as Android 7.0 Nougat updates on 2015 Samsung Galaxy flagships are concerned, Europe and in particular, Turkey, has been on the forefront.
The market was the first to receive the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge update to Android 7.0 Nougat and not so long ago, the story was no different for the Galaxy Note 5. Well, it appears that the same European country is now ready to receive the Nougat update for those using Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+.
A few weeks ago, Samsung Turkey released a roadmap that actually confirmed the expected release dates of Android 7.0 Nougat for a number of Sammy devices. The dates are being proven accurate as the Galaxy S6 Edge+ has just joined the party with firmware version G928CXXU3CQC7. If you are keen, you’ll notice that this is the same firmware version that was pushed to the region’s Galaxy Note 5.
This new firmware for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ has been spotted in Sammy’s servers and even though it has not yet commenced the rollout process, it shows that the tech giant is almost ready to begin updating the phablet to Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
When it starts, those using the Galaxy S6 Edge+ can expect to receive an OTA notification alerting them that the update is ready for downloading and installing on their phones. It might take some time before all units in Turkey get the update installed, but you can keep on checking for its availability via your phone’s About settings.
We can’t tell when exactly the global release of Android 7.0 Nougat update to Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will begin. But given that the likes of Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and Galaxy Note 5 have already tasted the OS and yet the global rollout has not begun, it could take a few weeks from now before the process kicks off. Still, it is great to learn that the Nougat update to Sammy’s 2015 flagships is rolling (seems) rolling out.
