The Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8 are the upcoming flagship devices that will probably come with foldable screens.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the two new flagship devices and the new foldable screen feature could make the wait worth waiting for.
Cleaning Up the Mess
The Galaxy Note 7 had been released earlier in 2016 but it ended up as an incendiary phone and had to be recalled and permanently disabled. Samsung needs to clean up the mess and has to offer something big and interesting in order to retain customers. The company is planning several upgrades for the next year flagship phones.
Foldable Display
One of the big changes expected for the Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy S8 is the foldable screen display. This will help make the two new devices stand out from the rest of the crowd.
Ahead of Curve
Samsung has always been sporting top specs that managed to keep the company ahead of the competition. However, the company is badly in need of a smash hit after the Galaxy Note 7 debacle. The company is willing to take chances in new design and as a result, it is planning to release a foldable screen type of display for the two new upcoming devices in 2017.
Flexible Screen Display
Samsung is not only planning a foldable display with two screen but attempting a two pronged strategy with a bendable model as well. According to ET News, a Korean website, Samsung Electronics will be offering two kinds of foldable phones, each different from the other. The dual screen phone will come with flat display, whereas the foldable phone will bend one flexible OLED screen display.
Dual Screen and Flexible Screen
There are reports from ET News that the company will release the dual screen phone first to assess the market reaction. Later, it will release the foldable display model. According to the report, one of the versions will come with rectangular display design and offer a foldable OLED display, whereas the other will appear like a tablet, which can be bent in the middle with a screen on the front and the back.
Radical Redesigning
The reports of the flexible and foldable display screens are not far fetched ones, as Samsung has earlier patented such screens for introducing such a technology in the coming year. This will mark a radical redesigning in case of both these series of phones, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8.
Other Changes
Other changes speculated in the new Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8 are that the headphone jack as well as the physical home buttons is to be eliminated. A 4K screen resolution is a new addition.
The home button will be a virtual one, affording an almost bezel less screen. The Galaxy Note 8 will also go without the physical home buttons and will have a virtual button that is touch sensitive.
Cameras and Processors
There are contradictory reports with some stating that both the new devices will come with dual cameras at the back. However, some claim that this would be too expensive to manufacture. The Qualcomm Snapdragon, 835 will power the devices and they will have a RAM of 4GB, with 6GB RAM version options.
