The Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus pack dramatic features and specs, as they mark the company’s comeback vehicle after the sad fate of the Galaxy Note 7.
There is absolutely no room for error in case of the launch of its next flagship devices, so Samsung needs to offer some dramatic specs and features for its next flagship phones to be released in 2017.
The Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus will serve as the comeback vehicle for Samsung. It is important for the Korean manufacturer to pack the two flagship devices with top specs and features. It needs to have a dramatic effect in the market, to combat the negativity created by the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7.
The basic or standard version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with the smaller display of 5 inches, whereas the Plus variant will have a bigger display of 6 inches. This is even bigger when compared to the 5.7 inches display of the Galaxy Note 7, according to Naver, a South Korean website through Forbes.
Other rumors suggest that the Galaxy S8 and its Plus variant will come with bezel less display design, almost similar to Xiaomi’s Mi Mix. If the reports are true, the Galaxy S8 will not be much bigger when compared to the Galaxy Note 7. According to the report, a source in Samsung has stated that the Samsun Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus device will come with curved display screens. Earlier, there were reports that Samsung was planning on putting an end to its flat screen models.
It is also reported that the upcoming Galaxy S8 will have a RAM of 8 GB and a chipset that is created with the 10 nm procedure, according to sources on Weibo through PhoneArena.
The Galaxy S8 will also support a UFS 2.1, flash storage chipset. According to the source, the higher end model, the Galaxy S8 Plus will come with dual camera on the rear, ousting the Galaxy Note 8. However, the basic variant of the Galaxy S8 will probably sport only a single back camera.
End of Note Line
Though there might be several loyal customers, it is only to be expected that consumers will find it dangerous to buy the Galaxy Note 8, if and when it is announced. Due to this negative perception, it is likely that Samsung will attempt to save the line with its new Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, ditching the Note line altogether. The Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus come with a completely novel design and offer a bezel less screen.
Bixby and Kestra
Samsung is also said to be gearing up its AI assistants, known as Bixby and Kestra, male and female respectively for the new Galaxy S8 device. Some pundits in the industry also claim that Google and Samsung are discussing equipping Samsung’s flagship devices with the Google Assistant, for its voice activated AI assistant.
However, all this has to be taken with a pinch of salt, as they are only rumors and Samsung has not confirmed or even denied any of the reports.
