Samsung Gear S3 Frontier Pre-orders at AT&T Starts Today

Samsung Gear S3 Frontier

The latest smartwatch in town, Samsung Gear S3 Frontier, is now coming to AT&T and has a whole bunch of interesting features to keep you off from your phone, for a while.

This is Samsung’s first 4G LTE smartwatch and will be available for pre order from today, 4th November.

While smartwatches are still in their nascent stages with very little adoption, they are an intuitive piece of gadget that could help you stop the habit of glancing at your smartphone every minute. Besides, they save a lot of time with quick notifications and simplify many day to day tasks done using your phone.

AT&T announced that they will let customers buy a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier for $49.99 and when you do, you sign a two-year agreement with the service provider. While the features found in the device are the same, buyers who purchase it from AT&T will receive some exclusive add-ons with NumberSync being the most prominent feature of them all.

With this new feature, users can easily send texts and make phones calls with their phone number. This also makes it easy to control your DirectTV receiver. The smartwatch offers these two different features that might come in handy on everyday basis. It is also bundled with an exclusive Digital Life app from AT&T that can be used to view images from your phone on the tiny screen, set alarm and open door locks when compatible doors are installed in your house.

A circular AMOLED display ensures the smartwatch looks bright and has great visibility even when exposed under direct sunlight. The 1.3-inch display is big enough and being circular adds to its “watch” quotient. Rectangular and square shaped smart watches usually don’t grab the attention of buyers. Besides, they might attract a lot of weird looks especially if you plan to use it as a fashion accessory.

It is powered by Tizen 2.3 OS and sufficiently equipped with 4 GB of internal storage space using which you can store music, pictures and even videos. We can’t really comment on how good it will be to watch movies on a 1.3-inch display but it’s easily a cool feature to show off to your friends and when surrounded by a group at a party. A bunch of health-related features like heart rate monitoring, running pace and location sharing is also bundled with the device.

Smartwatches can be a handy tool for people who are constantly on the move and like to save time but stay updated with essential notifications. It costs about $17.50 a month when you sign up for a 20-month plan with AT&T.
