Several reports have come up recently about Samsung introducing a higher-end and slimmer version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
While there have been rumors that the smartphone would be called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra or the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim, the latest news states that Samsung would name its upcoming high-end foldable handset as Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.

According to a post on the popular X platform by trustworthy tipster Evan Blass, the manufacturer is working on the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. The post also hints that this could be the name of the handset instead of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra or the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim.
As per earlier reports, the smartphone will be available only in the South Korean and Chinese markets. This makes the Special Edition name choice apt for the smartphone.

The new smartphone will be slimmer than the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 6 smartphone by 1.1 mm. It will also not have the digitizer on the inner screen and hence will not have S Pen compatibility. The handset will also be thicker than Chinese foldable smartphones.
Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition Specifications
According to talks doing the rounds, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will be equipped with a titanium back plate. The smartphone is slated to encompass an upgraded 5 MP under-display snapper under its foldable screen, a 10 MP selfie camera on its cover screen, and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera on its rear. The manufacturer will likely opt for a higher-resolution primary camera and different aspect ratios for the screens but these details are yet to be confirmed.
Release Date
Samsung might release the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition towards the end of this year between October and December. The handset is also expected to have a heftier price tag than the usual Galaxy Z Fold 6.
