Six New Sticker Packs and Animated Stickers Heading to Whatsapp

The Android team of Whatsapp is looking forward to making the business-like app more user-friendly and expressive.

The feature is still in its beta stage and might take time to be launched but when it does, users will have six new sticker packs to make use of.

The fun new sticker pack will allow users to be more expressive when they send stickers. Most popular text messaging apps like Hike, Line and many others rely on stickers not only to keep their users on board but also make money out of it. Some of these apps sell exclusive stickers from famous movie franchises, sports and games which can be purchased at cheap rates. As their cost remains less, people don’t hesitate to purchase them whenever they like to.

It is to be seen whether Whatsapp has any business plans by introducing more sticker packs regularly to keep users glued to it. Starting off with six different sticker packs to choose from is a great opening for users who are bored of the same old yellow emojis and the bunch of smileys available in the app already. They just don’t express any fun elements which is why it makes sense to expand in this area rather than focusing only on introducing power features.

Recently, Whatsapp for Android got business-related features making it easier for companies to keep in touch with their employees, maintain large groups and send messages to everyone in a team when required. The latest update confirmed that Android version of the app will soon get six or seven different sticker packs. Screenshots of the content have been posted on Twitter by WABetaInfo and as the page has gained a reputation for reliable leaks, this seems like a legitimate update to look forward to.

The Android version will also receive animated stickers to keep things interesting. Whatsapp on Windows phone has received a new feature allowing users to seamlessly switch between voice calls and video calls even though the team has announced that they have stopped development for the Windows Phone OS. Whatsapp on iOS will now notify users when a new computer is used to login to use the desktop version as an additional safety measure.

There is no confirmed date as to when new sticker packs and animated stickers will roll out for the Android version of the app but it won’t be long as a screenshot of the packs is already available.
