Sony Xperia C4, C4 Dual and Xperia C5 Ultra Android Marshmallow Rolling Out

Android Marshmallow

Sony is finally rolling out Android Marshmallow to the Xperia C4, Xperia C4 Dual as well as Xperia C5 Ultra.

Sony has announced earlier in the year that the Xperia C4 and Xperia C5 handsets will be getting the Marshmallow treat at some point. Well, the time has come and the handsets’ updates are ready to roll out. The OS is coming as an OTA update, meaning not all units of the Xperia C4 and Xperia C5 Ultra will not receive it at once. This shouldn’t worry you at all because the update will be ready for your model in no time.

Like any other Android Marshmallow update, the Sony Xperia C4, Xperia C4 Dual, and Xperia C5 Ultra will be receiving a bunch of new features as well as performance updates. Even though not all models of the Xperia C4 have received the update, the rest of the family is expected to make the cut in the next few days or weeks.

The update is ready for Xperia C4 variants with model numbers E5303, E5306, E5333 as well as E5343. As for now, there is still no room for Xperia C4 with model number E5353 and E5363. As for the Xperia C5 Ultra, those with model number E5533 are good to go with the Marshmallow update, however, the update should start hitting all other units in the new few days.

Another thing you need to note is that since the Xperia C4 and Xperia C5 Ultra handsets are sold in different countries and operators, the update will not be available at the same time. But when the OS is ready for your device, you should see a notification come your way. If the notification has not reached your Sony Xperia C4 or Xperia C5 Ultra, simply head to the Settings>About phone>Software update and find out manually whether the update is ready or not. It is also possible to take advantage of Xperia companion to update the phone, but this will require that you connect the handset to a computer via a USB cable.
