If you are a Sony fan and live in India, this is perhaps the time you’ve been waiting for. With the release of Sony Xperia XZ Premium in the country tagged as “coming soon”, the Japanese tech giant has slammed the Xperia XZ with a discount of Rs 10,000, which is equivalent to about $150.
When the Xperia XZ made its debut in India, it was back in October 2016. At the time, the high-end phone came in with an asking price of Rs 51,990, which is equivalent to about $795. When compared to other flagship phones in the market, this is indeed a huge price tag.
So, if you live in India have been looking for the day you finally get your hands on the Sony Xperia XZ, well, this is the time. The phone is now priced at Rs 41,999 via the official website, something that could be in readiness for the release of the Xperia XZ Premium. So far, only this model has been listed on Sony India, but there Xperia XZs is missing.
We’ve recently heard reports that the Snapdragon 835-powerd XZ Premium will start selling in the UK as from June 1, but we are yet to get a release date for the Indian market. Still, the company’s Indian website has listed the phone with a “coming soon” release date, which should be anytime between after the release of Samsung Galaxy S8 and July 2017. But for now, you’ll have to settle for the 2016 Xperia XZ.
Still, this is the company’s 2016 flagship phone and it comes with some of the best specs you can find in the smartphone market. These include a 5.2-inch Full HD screen with a curved glass on top, a Snapdragon 820 SoC paired with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage, a 23MP/13MP camera combination and a 2900mAh battery unit. The body is also IP68 certified, has support for fast charging, a fingerprint scanner and apparently, Sony says that the phone has Android Nougat running the show.
