Sony Xperia Z3+ Android 7.0 Nougat Update starts rolling out immediately after Xperia Z5

Sony Xperia Z3+ Android 7.0 Nougat

Sony Xperia Z5 started receiving Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update barely a day ago and as it is, the next in line to receive the same treat is the Xperia Z3+ flagship.

According to the Xperia Blog, the new Android 7.0 Nougat update for Xperia Z3+ users comes with software build number 32.3.A.0.372, same as what rolled out to the standard Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Premium yesterday. The new update is not just rolling out to those using the Xperia Z3+, but also those with the Dual variant of the same phone.

There should be nothing different in the update when compared to what Sony Xperia Z5 received earlier. However, the Xperia Z3+ Nougat update is slightly heavier than what the Z5 received, where it weighs close to 1.4GB as compared to the roughly 1.3GB update pushed to the Z5.

Before this rolling out process begun, Sony’s user-agent profile had confirmed that Android 7.0 Nougat had been certified for the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z3+ as well as the Xperia Z4 Tablet. Up to now, the update has only reached two devices, with details of when exactly the OS will start rolling out to the latter still unknown. Nonetheless, since the Nougat OTA update has already been certified for the Xperia Z4 Tablet, it shouldn’t be long before the same treat is headed the tablet’s way.

Sony vowed to be the first to avail the Nougat update to its devices ahead of other non-Google companies. From the look of things, the OEM is indeed leading the way when it comes to the number of devices that have already been updated to the new OS. In case you didn’t know, the 2016 Xperia X series has already received this treat and now the company has moved to its 2015 flagships.
